Let's Give Thanks!
Amelia is a 9 year old artist that raised $41 dollars with two of her drawings through the American Mini Pig Rescue Advocates. She was touched by the story of Sampson, the pig that was starved nearly to death with his brother, mother, and father before Rooterville Sanctuary rescued them. The Rescue Advocates sponsor Sampson with monthly $25 donations. Ameila felt compelled to do more. So she drew!
To the left is the Pigrim Mayflower. Amelia explained it as:
Pigrim Mayflower
The pigs are in the middle of the ocean. The ship is called the Mayflower. The pig on the very top of the ship is looking for land, the pig on the far right of the ship is The Captain. They are all very hungry and seasick. They wish they could be on land. They are headed to America to be free from the pork farmers in England.
To the right is the Thanksgiving Feast. Amelia describes it as:
The Thanksgiving Feast
The pig on the left is named Pinky, the pig in the middle is named Ponyo, the pig on the right is named Reddie. They are eating Tofurkey, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Peas, and Cherry Pie. They all are enjoying their feast. They are too short to stand up to the table, so they are standing on stools.
Thank you, Amelia for having compassion for these less fortunate pigs. Thank you for caring enough to step up and do something to help them. Thank you for letting us use your photo, your art, and your story to inspire others!
We need to nurture this spark in our young ones. They are our future.
